The National Drug Authority (NDA) has issued a statement addressing a viral video circulating on social media that raises concerns about the safety of Fedate Capsules, a registered and approved medication for iron deficiency anemia and vitamin and mineral supplementation.
The video, which shows a member of the public demonstrating the attraction of the powder in the capsules to a magnet, has sparked fears about the product’s safety. However, NDA has assured the public that the product has undergone all necessary regulatory processes and is safe for use.
NDA has clarified that Fedate Capsules contain Carbonyl Iron, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, and Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate, and are indicated for iron deficiency anemia and vitamin and mineral supplementation.
The authority has also warned that some players in the drug business may be attempting to discredit competitors by spreading false information and causing public panic.
NDA has urged the public to seek guidance from healthcare professionals for proper diagnosis and prescription beore using any medicine and to report any drug-related complaints through their toll-free line or WhatsApp line.
The statement emphasizes that NDA prioritizes public safety and has measures in place to ensure the quality and safety of medicines on the market, including sampling, testing, and investigations of any medicine quality defects and adverse drug reactions.
The public is advised to remain calm and confident in the safety of Fedate Capsules and to seek accurate information from trusted sources.
