KAMPALA
Presidential advisor Jennifer Namutebi Nakangubi, better known as Full Figure, has been hospitalised after a violent assault in Kampala that police say involved NRM politician Justin Nameere and her husband.
The attack happened on Friday, August 29, along Kyadondo Road as Nakangubi was heading to a hotel for a press conference organised by Central Executive Committee (CEC) contestant Moses Kalangwa.
In graphic video clips circulating on social media, two men; one dressed in NRM T-shirt and cape, and another in casual wear attacked assaulted Nakangubi who they kicked multiple times while bystanders looked on. A female voice in one of the stationary vehicles is heard saying, “Full Figer, why do you always abuse me?” Later images from her hospital bed reveal severe facial swelling, bruised lips, and both eyes swollen shut.
Preliminary reports allege that Nameere, the NRM flag bearer for Masaka District Woman MP, and her spouse allegedly intercepted Nakangubi, beat her repeatedly, and stole her mobile phone together with Shs500,000 in cash.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango confirmed the case was formally registered at the force’s headquarters.
“She reported a case of robbery at Kampala Metropolitan Police headquarters, where her statement was recorded and witnesses identified,” Onyango said.
He added that detectives had already visited the crime scene and were pursuing the suspects. “Our officers are actively tracking them down. We want to assure the public that the matter is being handled seriously and investigations are ongoing,” Onyango noted.
Police said further updates would be issued as inquiries progress.
