Residents in Mwererwe Ward, Gombe Division in Wakiso district have woken up to shocking news of the abduction of their councillor Ssebbale Ssekaate, who was kidnapped last evening.
According to reports; the armed kidnappers donned in plain clothes last evening on Wednesday attacked and kidnapped Ssebbale at a site where he was overseeing constructions, forced him into a waiting drone car before they could whisk to yet unknown destination.
Means to find out Ssebaale’s whereabouts are according to Ssebaale’s are still futile as all police detentions deny having him held in their cells.
“I have found out at all police posts and at Kasangati police but no answers have been given,” Ssebbale’s wife said.
It is alleged that Ssebbale, a National Unity Platform councillor representing Mwererwe ward in Gombe Division Wakiso district is being detained at either SIU Kireka or CID Kibuli and family is working all means possible to have his whereabouts.
When Parrots UG reached the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, he said he had no any information about Ssebaale’s kidnap.
Owoyesigyire said investigations will begin as soon as the matter is reported to authorities.
