The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) has restored normal water supply to Gulu City following the completion of emergency works on the Karuma-Gulu bulk water transmission main.
In a statement issued on Thursday (August 5), NWSC confirmed that the repairs had been finalized and supply was back to normal.
“Emergency works along the Karuma-Gulu bulk water transmission main have been completed, and normal water supply to Gulu City has been restored. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this downtime,” the corporation announced.
This followed a three-day water supply interruption that began on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, after a crack developed in a section of the Karuma water pipeline. During that period, the authority advised city dwellers and surrounding areas to rely on Oytino Dam.
NWSC had earlier advised residents to store enough water and use it sparingly as engineers worked on the damaged line. The corporation has since expressed regret over the inconvenience caused.
