ONC Manager Senior Presidential Advisor/Personal Assistant (SPA/PA) Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo has called on Ugandans to turn out in large numbers and vote for the NRM presidential candidate and incumbent, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in the forthcoming election.
Speaking at the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) headquarters, Namyalo praised Ugandans for the strong support they have shown President Museveni throughout the campaign period, noting the massive crowds that attended his rallies to listen to his messages.
She urged supporters to translate that enthusiasm into actual votes on polling day, January 15. The ONC headquarters have become a beehive of activity as preparations intensify for the critical role of vote protection. She called on Museveni’s supporters to remain vigilant.
“We must ensure that every vote counts and that the will of the people is protected,” Namyalo said, urging supporters to be on high alert to prevent any alleged malpractice.
Her remarks come amid renewed statements by President Museveni that votes were stolen from him during the 2021 general elections, allegations he has previously leveled against the opposition.
The ONC is expected to play a key coordination role as the NRM pushes for a strong showing at the polls. Last week, a Vote Protection taskforce was flagged off at a ceremony ONC headquarters.
