A 26-year-old Brian Muyingo is behind cells after he was found with suspected stolen motorcycle and number plates during security operations.
Muyingo is an online marketer (company withheld) and resident of Kinawa zone, Kasenge Ward, Kyengera Town Council Wakiso District.
He was arrested in a intelligence-led operation by territorial police at Nsagi conducted between 10th-11th August, 2022.
According to police, the operation follow increased theft of Motorcycles in areas of Wakiso.
At least six suspected motorcycle thieves.including Muyingo have been arrested in the operation.
Police says that they found one suspected stolen Motorcycle registration number UEY 444Y with Muyingo.
“A search was conducted at his place of residence and one Motorcycle Registration Number UFC 521M Bajaj, two number plates UEY 649Y and UED 711X and suspected forged Motorcycle documents were recovered”, says police
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police says that they have arrested five other suspects from areas of Kinawa, Kalerwe, Budo and Kasenge who led to a recovery of six suspected stolen Motorcycles.
The six recovered motorcycles are registered with the following registration numbers; UES 229U, UFF 624V, UEY 444 Y, UFC 521M, UFD 864A and UFB 113 W.
Police are yet to verify ownership of the said Motorcycles.
Owoyesigyire says that the suspects steal these Motorcycles and forge number plates as well as documents which they later sell to unsuspecting customers.
All suspects are currently detained at Nsangi Police station as investigations into the matter continue.
