At least 110 members of the opposition political party, People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), have picked up nomination forms, expressing interest in vying for different local government and parliamentary seats across the country by June 26.

This was revealed by Michael Kabaziguruka, the PFF Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson, while addressing journalists at the party headquarters on Katonga Road in Kampala.

According to Kabaziguruka, the process of issuing nomination forms started on Monday, June 23, 2025, and the response has been overwhelming, with 110 members picking up forms within a few days.

“This shows progress for the party, and by July 31, 2025, when the process ends, we expect many more members to have picked up forms,” he said.

He also noted that the delayed issuance of the party’s certificate by the National Electoral Commission has affected the party’s process. Despite this setback, the party is working hard to catch up with the Electoral Commission’s roadmap.

Kabaziguruka emphasized that PFF members are free to pick up nomination forms at any party branch across the country. However, the nomination process will be carried out at the national party headquarters on Katonga Road in Kampala to ensure better accountability.

The development com s at a time when all political parties are nominating candidates to hold their flag on various positions in preparations for the 2026 elections.

Although PFF is expected to face stiff competition from other opposition parties and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), party promoters, leaders and supporters are optimistic that with the growing momentum and popular support, their party is poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming elections.
