KAMPALA
The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party is among political parties that officially launched the nomination process for aspirants seeking to contest in the 2026 general elections.
By June 10, the party’s Electoral Commission had received an impressive 2100 expressions of interest from aspirants intending to contest in the party primaries.

These applications covered three key elective positions namely, Constituency Member of Parliament, District Woman Member of Parliament, and LCV Chairperson.
Records by the party’s Electoral Commission show that total expressions of interest by Tuesday, 143 were for constituency parliamentary seats, 56 for district woman MP positions, and 67 for LCV chairpersons.
Among the Aspirants including Najiba Naluyima Mubambala for Mpigi District Woman , MP, Balam kato a.k.a Boss ,For Kazo County, Bungokho North, Abdu Kampanya for Ikiki Constituency,Dududa District, Easter Kadaaya WMP Bugiri District, Gabriel Kato for PWDs Western Region who vows to bring all problems of PWDs on board in case trusted by voters.
Meanwhile Balam Kato vying for Kazo County promised to work on problems of road network, poor education as well as other service delivery aspects ,

“Kazo County is like abandoned child by parents so am here to bring a smile back to faces of people of Kazo in term of service delivery” Kato disclosed.
Latif Bulobe for Bungokho North MP in Mbale District says youth issue will be on forefront because for Many youths are not given opportunity to be represented well and those pretending to represent just fulfill their personal goals.
The nomination process is still ongoing with more aspirants anticipated to join the race, as the NRM intensifies preparations for what promises to be a highly competitive election cycle.
