The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has deployed 59,890 field personnel across the country to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of this year’s Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
According to UNEB Executive Director Dan Odongo, the personnel include 160 district monitors, 13,841 scouts, 12,260 chief invigilators, 33,105 invigilators, and 524 security officers who will oversee and safeguard the examinations, candidates, and field officials.
A total of 817,885 candidates from 16,140 examination centres have registered to sit for the PLE, which officially commenced today with the briefing of candidates at all centres. This represents a 2.5% increase from 797,444 candidates who sat last year.
P.7 candidates will start writing their papers on Monday, November 3, 2025, beginning with Mathematics in the morning, and Social Studies and Religious Education (SST & RE) in the afternoon. The papers will conclude on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, with Integrated Science in the morning and English in the afternoon.
Odongo cautioned schools, parents, and pupils against engaging in examination malpractice, warning individuals who pose as UNEB officials and sell fake examination papers.
“The board strongly warns all persons contemplating involvement in any form of examination malpractice that they will be dealt with in accordance with the UNEB Act, Cap 259,” Odongo said.
