KAMPALA: The Parliamentary Commission has awarded two companie;Pinnacle Concepts Ltd and Dezy Business Systems Ltd contracts to supply chairs and coat hangers for the various offices.
In a bid notice at the Parliament noticeboard which Parrots UG seen, the Commission allocated Shs233.64M for procurement of office chairs, Visitors Chairs has been allocated Shs193.6m and Shs112.084m will go towards procurement of coat hangers and file cabinets. This means, a total of Shs539.324m is the expenditure on these items.
The bid notice further indicated companies whose bids were unsuccessful due to higher quotations among several other reasons. These include; Footsteps Furniture Company Ltd that was edged out for quoting price of Shs429M and Shs161.600m for furniture, Nina Interiors Ltd, which quoted quoted Shs418Million and Shs217.800M for the items.
Pinnacle Concepts Ltd bid on one of the items was rejected with Parliament accusing the Company of submitting bid security of Shs3M yet the requirement was Shs3.3m.
Another company, Prime Impex was edged out of the bidding process for submitting the bid with three powers of attorney with only one signatory contrary to required number of signatories to the bid.
