The People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) party has been officially gazetted by the Electoral Commission, marking a critical step in its pursuit of full registration as a political party in Uganda.
In a General Notice No. 1346 of 2025, signed by Justice Simon Byabakama Mugenyi, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, published in the Uganda Gazette, Vol. CXVIII No. 39, dated May 16. The notice confirms that the Commission has received the party’s application for registration under Section 6(4) of the Political Parties and Organisations Act, Cap. 178.
According to the notice, the PFF, headquartered at Plot 6, Katonga Road, Kampala, lists a mobile phone handset as its official symbol, white and royal blue as the party’s color – representing peace, truth, justice, and clean leadership, and “Freedom for all, All for freedom.” as their party slogan.
The publication follows an eight-month delay, during which party officials engaged in extensive communication with the Electoral Commission, revising documents and addressing procedural requirements.
The Electoral Commission has now opened a 14-day objection period during which members of the public may submit concerns or objections to the registration. Objections must be filed in writing at the Commission’s headquarters located at Plot 1–3/5, Seventh Street, Industrial Area, Kampala.
If no objections are upheld, the party is expected to move toward full registration, joining Uganda’s expanding roster of officially recognized political entities.
