Hours are being numbered to the release of the outcomes for last year’s Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), and heads of schools have been asked to inform the board on the updates of defaulting candidates whose names were submitted to UNEB requesting to withhold their results over unpaid fees and have since cleared to nill balances inorder to release their results.
The release ceremony is going to take place at State House Nakasero this Thursday January 25, 2024 at 11am. The minister of education and sports also the first lady, Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni is expected to preside over the ceremony among other invited guests.
A total of 749,347 candidates from 14,442 examination centres across the country reregistered to sit for the PLE last year. They include 391,558 (52%) female candidates and 357,789 (48%) male candidates.
But, the UNEB Public Relations Officer Jennifer Kalule Musumba said during the release, the board Executive Director, Daniel Nokrach Odongo will update the country on the exact number of candidates who sat for these exams, their performance based on gender, subject and other dimensions of examination.
She said results will be available to access online immediately after the minister releases the results advising learners and guardians not to send messages before the actual release of the results because they won’t be able to get them besides being costly.
How to access PLE results online
Candidates, parents and other interested parties may use the Short Message Services (SMS) on mobile telecom networks which will post the results of candidates on their mobile sets instantly. This will be done by typing PLE <Space> Full Index Number of the candidate, e.g. 003301/368 and send to 6600 on all mobile telecom networks. A fee of Shs500 will be charged per SMS Alert. May the best candidates win!
