Police in Kawala have recovered stolen items initially burgled from Monarich Primary school.
In a social media statement released on Saturday morning, police says that they recovered the items in a house of the one of the residents.
“With the help of the K9 unit, the Kawala police tracked the scent about 500 metres away from the school to a one Nantogo Sarah’s house,” read the statement in parts.
Nantogo had hidden the stolen items in the ceiling, police reported.
Among the recovered items are flat irons, computer parts like monitors, keyboards and other alike electric appliances.
Nantogo is currently being held in custody by the Kawala police to help in investigations.
In similar news, the police in katwe have recovered an AK-47 riffle suspected to have been stolen from Katwe police station in November, 2022.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police confirmed to the reports.
According to Owoyesigyire, two suspects (identity withheld) have been arrested and in custody at Katwe police station for illegal possession of the gun.
He added that one of the suspects used the gun to rob money from a one Swabulah which led to their arrest.
