The Police in Mbarara have on Friday recovered a gun that was used to kill Corpal Agaba Richard, the OC Ruharo police post.
The Rwizi Region Police Spokesman Samson Kasasira, the gun was revovered from a banana plantation 50 meters away from the crime scene.
Kasasira told Journalists that the banana plantation belongs to Ngabirano Vincent in Mbaguta Cell, Ruharo Ward, Kamukuzi division in Mbarara City the exact area where Agaba was murdered from.
According to Kasasira, the gun was first seen by Ngabirano’s house maid while she had gone in the garden on Friday morning. She then told her boss who reported the matter to police.
Police detectives from Mbarara led by the DPC and visited the scene and a gun type; SAR NO.2691820 with a cartridge stuck in the chamber was recovered.
Kasasira has said that the gun was taken as an exhibit pending ballistic tests and fingerprint lifting.
The gun was grabbed from the deceased as he scuffled with the thigs.
