KAMPALA
Territorial Police in Kampala have arrested several individuals suspected of vandalizing vehicles in the city. The arrests came after a wave of complaints through social media and official channels regarding vehicle theft and vandalism within the central business district.
The suspects allegedly stole side mirrors and other motor vehicle parts from both moving vehicles and those parked in Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) parking spots. They were identified as Muhammed Ramathan, Kabalega Deus, Emron Lawrence, and Kazungu Enoch. A significant number of stolen motor vehicle parts were recovered during the operation.
Further interrogation of the suspects led police to the Kiseka area of Kampala, where illegal shops engaged in the trade of stolen vehicle parts were discovered. Investigators arrested Mugabi Shakur, Lukwago Abdulkarim, Kabambwe Mark, Nyanzi Fred, and Wandera Fred during this phase of the operation.
The arrested suspects are currently in custody at the Central Police Station, Kampala, where they will undergo due legal process. Upon completion, they will face charges linked to their involvement in the criminal operation.
