BUSHENYI
The conditions of learning and teaching at Kemitaha primary school in Kitojo Parish,Kakanju sub county in Bushenyi District is at God’s mercy due to lack of both toilets and class rooms.
Kemitaha primary school is a government aided school located about 17 Kms from Kyamuhunga town council along Bushenyi- Kasese high way.
“The school that started in 1958 under church of Uganda and currently our enrollment stands at 298 pupils with nine teachers in total seven on government pay roll while two are paid by parents,” said Mr Steven Barigye the school deputy head teacher.
He added “The building that accommodates P1.P.2 and P.3 is in sole state and when it rains we shift them to P.7. The small structure that was put up by parents have no windows and doors and when it rains we put our pupils in staff room and P.6 class room,”.
Barigye said boys have no toilets and the one they have is shared between the girls and their famale teachers and for men they use the one for the church because they also use the some church structures as one of the class room.
Lauben Kananga, the chairman LC III Kakanju sub county said, people especially parents of Kemitaha primary school have been a busing him yet his council forwards all the problems to the District.
Jaffari Basajjabalaba, LCV chairman of Bushenyi District said when the current leadership came to power they found when the school was in a very bad state and they agreed in the a council to help the school requesting them to keep calm as the solution is being looked for.

We are making our children to suffer from ignorance cz you will tell the child to go their and study they will tell you aaaaashhhhh the building is going to fall on us or we might fall in alatrine and the children will end up leaving the school now who will lead the subcounty in future or who teach their kids now since 1958 they are 66 yrs back
