The Mbale Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Ahamada Washaki has stopped the ongoing construction of North Bukrdi Cooperative Union (NBCU) building on Pallisa road accusing the union of illegally enchroaching on part of the land belonging to Mbale regional referral hospital.
“As reported today, North Bukedi Growers Cooperative Union was determined to grab part of the public space adjacent to Regional Referral Hospital Mbale. But we are also not sleeping,” Washaki said.
According to Washai, NBCU was partly grabbed the hospital land at the entrance and started constructing pavers. He says the land was reserved for parking hospital ambulances and staff vehicles.
“North Buedi Cooperative Union has its own land title and knows its boundaries, they built a house and completed all their plot. I cannot allow them to grab the government land. Ihave instructed the physical planner to stop any development on the public land.” Washaki warned.
It is alleged that the union connected with some government officials in Mbale to grab the land.
RCC Washaki expressed his total commitment to fight enchroachment on government land in Mbale under his reign as the area RCC.
