Godfrey Nyehangane Tebandama, 72, a retired headteacher at Kabwohe Primary School, was tragically killed last night by unknown assailants at his home in Nyamiyaga, Kagango, Sheema district.
According to Andrew Natumanya Tabz, Tebandama’s son and a former photographer for the National Unity Platform (NUP) President Bobi Wine, his father was attacked while having supper.
“My dad was brutally killed by unknown people in our home… No, daddy didn’t deserve this cruelty,” Natumanya posted on his X handle, formerly Twitter.
Police preliminary reports show that Tebandama’s body was found tied with t wire, and blood oozing from his mouth.
Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, SSP Martial Tumusiime, said Tebandema was allegedly strangled.
He added that a police canine was deployed at the scene of the crime which led to the arrest of three suspects, including a casual laborer who worked for the deceased.
“The killers made off with electronic appliances, including a flat-screen TV, mobile phones, and others,” said SSP Martial.
He said the prime suspect was arrested and investigations to recover the stolen items are ongoing.
