Renown businessman and veteran politician, Dr. James Musinguzi Garuga has passed on.
“Very sad news as we sit in court, waiting for Kizza Besigye bail application, our mentor, our financier, our founder, our eminent person, Dr. James Musinguzi Garuga has gone to be with the Lord,” eulogized Ingrid Turinawe, PFF promoter and political activist.
Garuga is the proprieotor of Kigezi Highlands Tea factory. He is recognized for his remarkable and historical contributions towards Uganda’s political development as one of the celebrated cogs that ushered in the National Resistance Army/Movement government in 1986 under tghe stewardship of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. This was before he joined forces to founf the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
A property mogul, Garuga is has been serving as the Chancellor of Bushenyi district-based university, Valley University of Science and Technology, founded by Mzee William Mikaira.
