Police at Jinja Road Police Station have arrested six suspects during an operation targeting shops suspected of dealing in stolen motor vehicle parts in the Kiseka area, Central Division, Kampala District.
The operation, conducted on Thursday between 10:00am and 3:00pm, involved a search of several shops believed to be handling suspected stolen property.
According to police, the suspects were arrested after officers found them allegedly in possession of various motor vehicle parts believed to have been stolen.

Items recovered during the operation included vehicle grills, side mirrors, motor vehicle number plates, spotlights, headlamps and baby side mirrors. The exhibits were seized to support ongoing investigations.
Police said the suspects have since been charged with receiving and retaining suspected stolen goods and are currently detained at Jinja Road Police Station pending prosecution. Some of the recovered side mirrors and headlamps were labeled with registration numbers of motor vehicles that they were allegedly stolen.
In a related development, another key suspect, Denis Sserugo was on Thursday arrested near the former Electoral Commission in a separate intelligence-led operation targeting phone snatching and theft of motor vehicle parts along the Lugogo–Nakawa traffic lights on Jinja Road.
Preliminary reports revealed that the suspect, together with accomplices still at large, had been monitoring vehicles, particularly high-end models such as Mercedes-Benz and Range Rover before stealing their side mirrors.
