Small Medium Enterprises-SMEs have been advised to use technology and the internet in particular to remain in business amid the challenges presented by COVID-19.
This was made by Brian Ntambirweki, CEO Brighter Monday Uganda, a recruitment and Human Resource service platform in Uganda on Wednesday during a meeting with employers to discuss the role of technology in offering jobs and recruitment of employees in Kampala.
Ntambirweki says there is a need for partnership to enable employers have control over people working from homes to ensure efficiency and productivity.
“We’ve had a very insightful discussion on how to leverage technology to improve human resource productivity in Uganda” said Ntambirweki.
He says COVID-19 has accelerated the use of technology and data to make decision which SMEs should tap into.
”we use technology to help companies hire the right people faster through putting up job adverts on our website that attract a number of application and help you further screen those application,” he added.
SME’s without proper ways of recruitment are advised to take advantage of digital solutions which are readily available to ensure that their enterprises remain afloat even when the world is grappling with COVID-19 that has brought economies to their knees.
Douglas Opio, the executive director Federation of Uganda employer has advised employees to take advantage of digital solutions which are already available, make online presence, and learn courses online to make themselves better.
Brighter Monday platform has a data base of 200.000 job seekers and over 8000 employers.
