Forum for Democratic Change founding member also the former member of Parliament for Kagoma county, Dr. Frank Nabwiso has asked the party founding president Rtd Col Dr. Kizza Besigye Kifefe not to expose inhouse party issues to the media but rather use known procedures to address them.

Nabwiso was responding to allegations raised by Dr. Kizza Besigye that the report presented by the Special Elders Committee to national council meeting of July 28, on the alleged dirty money that came into FDC from hostile forces was wanting.

Dr. Nabwiso challenges that the committee was appointed by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and approved by both Besigye and Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi based on merit not as pschophants. He said Dr. Kizza Besigye, SG Nandala and party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat are influential leaders and still needed in rebuilding the party.

“I appeal to other leaders to stop washing our political under wears in the public. We should raise above wars of individual interests, religious beliefs and ethnic lines,” he said

He further asked Dr. Besigye his group who allege that his committee did a shoddy work to appoint a new committee to prove their assertions

“World Bank reports have been criticized by analysts, our report is also not perfect. Those who believe that we did a shoddy work can still call for another committee to prove their assertions,” he said

While addressing journalists at Katonga road on Monday, Dr. Besigye dismissed the Committee Report asserting that it failed short of naming the people responsible for the irregularities in the party but instead went ahead to recommend for reconciliations. Reacting to Besigye’s allegations, Nabwiso said their terms of reference did not allow them to engage in witch-hunting games.

He accused Besigye of not disclosing to the Committee the sources of his information regarding the alleged money from the State House which crippled its efforts thorough investigate on the matter.

“Dr. Besigye did not prove to us that that money came from State House, in any case the serial numbers on the new notes which he recorded still did not confirm to us that the money was from State House,” Nabwiso said

He added that the 300 million shillings money which Besigye received from Nandala is not the same he gave back to FDC headquarters which raises conflicts of interest.

He attributed the allegations by Dr. Besigye to wrong messages that maybe whispered to him by some elements with intentions to destroy his legacy.

“Dr. Besigye is spoiling his own legacy, but we are appealing to him not to do that.”
