Following the bomb alert at Akamwesi Mall in Kyebando, the Kampala Metropolitan Police through their spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigiyre have said that it was a false alarm. This was after their bomb squad discovered that it was a poorly disposed-off bag of rubbish.
The Police advise people to disregard all rumours circulating on social media platforms claiming that there has been a bomb explosion therein and also commend high vigilance from the public. The Kampala Metropolitan Police have further appealed to stake holders and the public through the Deputy spokesperson to avoid release of unverified information as it could cause unnecessary panic within the members of the public.
