KAMPALA
Two people have been confirmed dead following a suspected bomb explosion on Tuesday morning near the Munyonyo Martyrs Shrine Basilica in Kampala.

According to eyewitnesses, the blast occurred on a bridge near the shrine at around 9:00 a.m. The victims include a Boda Boda rider and a female passenger, who is suspected to have been carrying the explosive device. Both died instantly at the scene.

Residents reported hearing a loud, unusual blast, which they believe was caused by an explosive device. Police have since cordoned off the area, and the bomb squad is currently investigating the nature and origin of the explosion.
