Uganda Christian University (UCU) Director of Students Affairs, Pamela Tumwebaze, has been killed by unknown assailants who reportedly broke into her home in Mukono.
The university announced that Tumwebaze died in the early hours of Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
“She went to be with the Lord in the early hours of Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Please uphold her children, immediate family and loved ones in prayer,” the university said in a statement.
According to sources, unidentified thugs allegedly attacked Tumwebaze at her residence on Tuesday night, resulting in her death. Details surrounding the attack remain unclear.

Tumwebaze was last seen on Tuesday while addressing students during a community worship service at Nkoyoyo Hall, where she served as the keynote speaker. During her sermon, she emphasised the importance of forgiveness and building healthy relationships among students.
“We need to take up that position of repenting. And for you to repent and actually merit forgiveness from God, you have to be forgiving […] because you want your sins to be forgiven, the same way you forgive others. That is how you will have a healthy relationship,” she told the congregation. “God will forget our sins. He has selective amnesia. He is not a forgetful God. But when it comes to the sins that you have repented, he puts them away.”
Members of the university community expressed shock and grief following news of her death.
“Our DOSA passed away last night. She was the preacher yesterday. This world is not our home… I am speechless,” Joan Niwandinda, a member of the university community, said.
Tumwebaze was also a member of the UCU Senior Management team.
Police had not yet issued an official statement by press time. May Her Soul Rest in Peace 🕊️
