Uganda’s COVID-19 cases rise to 616.
Latest from the ministry of health Uganda shows that 23 new cases of corona virus have been confirmed from results of samples which were tested yesterday June 6th, 2020 rising the total confirmed COVID-19 to 616 cases.
The new cases include; 7 Truck drivers from Elegu, Mutukula and Mirama Hills points of entry, 1 frontline health worker, 1 security personel fronElegu while 14 cases are contacts and alerts from KYOTERA, Adjuman, Tororo and Amuru districts.
In a statement, MoH added that other 47 foreign truck drivers tested positive at different entry points but were handed over to their countries.
The ministry further reported an increase in the number of recovery cases in the country. According to the ministry, Uganda’s recoveries have increased to 96 cases.
At least a sample of 1,515 persons from points of entry was tested today, and another 949 samples from alerts and contacts were also tested.
MoH further collected and tested samples of about 30 health workers. This brings a total number of samples that tested today to 2,494.
Uganda has not yet registered any death fatalities and nearly all businesses are coming to normalcy in the country except in border districts which are still under stiff lockdown.
