Leaders from the NRM Secretariat have weighed in on the fight against corruption, offering diverse perspectives and suggestions.
Zephline Muhangi, NRM Regional Coordinator for Western Uganda, emphasizes empowering local communities to take ownership of the fight. He proposes establishing grassroots anti-corruption committees to monitor government projects and report suspicious activities.
Faith Kaitesi, National Head of Mobilisation, NRM Secretariat, advocates for a nationwide sensitization campaign to change the mindset of citizens and encourage transparency.
The coordinator Northern Uganda, Cephas Okumu suggests leveraging technology to report corruption anonymously and track government spending in real-time.
Meanwhile, Victor Junior Akansasira, Coordinator Institutions, stresses strengthening institutions like the Office of the Auditor General and the Anti-Corruption Unit by providing resources and autonomy.
These collective efforts demonstrate a united commitment to tackling corruption in Uganda, ensuring a multi-faceted approach to addressing this pervasive issue.”
