The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has cautioned headteachers against interfering with candidates during examinations over unpaid school dues.
“We request that all learners be given an opportunity to write exams in an an environment that is conducive without being harassed for school fee balance,” said Jennifer.
Senior Four candidates are set to begin their final exams on Monday, October 14, under the New Lower Curriculum and transition exams. Students following the New Curriculum will start with Mathematics 1, while those under the Old Curriculum will tackle Chemistry 3 practicals.
The board Principal Public Relations Officer, Jennifer Kalule Musamba said on Sunday that they have already dispatched necessary materials to examination centers to ensure a smooth examination process.
“All materials will be
ready for them to get started tomorrow morning,” Musamba assured
“Tomorrow morning, all materials will be ready for them to get started,” she said.
Candidates have also been urged to maintain good discipline and manage time during the exams. According to UNEB, candidates are required to be at examination centre 30′ to the commencement of examination. The board emphasized that a candidate will not be allowed into an examination room 15′ past the exact commencement of the paper.
A total of over 370,000 candidates registered to sit for this year’s Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE). They include 369,477 candidates New Lower Secondary Curriculum (NLSC), and additional of 10,143 for the transitional examination.
