The police in Kampala has commenced a probe into sudden death of Dr. Tom Patrick Mugizi, a senior lecturer at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Nakawa, whose decomposing body was discovered in his house over the weekend.
Mugizi, 64, was a resident of Kisota zone, Kikaaya parish, Nakawa Division Kampala. His body was discovered in his house by a neighbor, who was asked by the relatives after they failed to reach out to him by phone.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigire said the mattaer was reported by the deceased sister, Annet Nsasiirwe, prompting police actions. Owoyesigyire added that the deceased house was found open but with no signs of forced break in.
“The house was found open with no property missing,” he said.
“The body was conveyed to city mortuary Mulago, pending a postmortem,” Owoyesigire explained, disclosing that the deceased was a known patient of an undisclosed long illness.
Police urged to the members of the public to remain calm, meanwhile as the investigations continue.
