The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has announced its readiness for the 2026 general elections, with a fully prepared campaign machinery set to traverse the country under a harmonized strategy.
“This means that UPC is already prepared, has already set up the campaign machine, ready to traverse the entire country following the laid-down harmonized campaign plan,” said Sharon Oyat Arach, the party spokesperson.
About a fortnight ago, the party president Hon. Jimmy Akena revealed he would be traversing the country canvassing votes for their parliamentary and local government council candidates. The party now says a harmonized campaign strategy was laid down to allow the president and other party top organs attend campaigns of their flag bearers across the country.
“We want to emphasize to our candidates that unity, focus of purpose, and hard work with total sacrifice are critical at this stage as we head toward 2026,” said Muzeeyi Faizo, party’s head of media and communications. He clarified that the campaign machinery strategy doesn’t mean the use of the guns, but harmonized strategy to win majority seats both in parliament and local government councils in 2026 elections.
As part of its manifesto implementation, UPC is leading a major crusade for cattle compensation in the Teso, Lango, Acholi, and West Nile sub-regions. The initiative seeks to restore the livestock economy in areas that were heavily affected by past insurgencies and cattle rustling, reinforcing the party’s commitment to regional economic recovery and justice.
The UPC has urged its candidates to prioritize spreading the gospel of the recently launched party manifesto which they believe will transform Uganda into a strong socio-economic state.
