A military charter flight from Guantanamo Bay in Cuba carrying 142 people overshot a runway Friday night, at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station, and ended up in the water.
Reports by the Marine Unit that was called in to assist in reference to this commercial plane indicates that nobody in the plane had died.
“The plane was not submerged. Every person is alive and accounted for. There are reports of two minor injuries,” says a report.
As of 10:45 p.m., authorities were looking for 2 dogs and a cat.
The FAA said the plane belonged to Miami Air International, a charter company based in Miami which does military charters.
Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry said on Twitter that crews were working to keep jet fuel out of the water. The White House also called to offer help, he added.
“We are aware of the incident and gathering information. Investigation into the mishap are underway,” Boeing Air station tweeted.
