PALLISA
A youthful woman has died after spending nearly two months in the church of a self-proclaimed bishop and healing prophet in Pallisa District.
Faith Carolina Amoding, 31, a resident of Seeta–Lumuli died last Thursday inside the church of a renowned self-proclaimed prophet and bishop, Ibisaleri Idakun, in Nyakoi Village, Pallisa District, where she had been taken for spiritual healing.
It is alleged that the deceased, a former student of Kireka High School and Bishop’s School, had been diagnosed with pneumonia in October at Mukono General Hospital after battling a prolonged illness that left her with persistent shortness of breath.
A close family members told Parrots UG that instead of continuing with hospital treatment, Amoding’s mother, Samali Akurut, opted to take her daughter to Bishop Idakun, leader of the Pentecostal Revival Ministries (PRM), believing she would recover through prayer.
Amoding reportedly stayed at the church throughout October and November, described by a family source as “medically helpless but spiritually attended to”, as church members prayed for her healing.
She passed away on the evening of Thursday, November 27, 2025, while still at the church premises.
Her body was laid to rest on Monday, December 1, 2025, at her ancestral home in Odwarat Village, Olok Parish, Pallisa County.
Local authorities are yet to comment on the circumstances under which the deceased was withdrawn from hospital care and kept at the church for two months.
