HOIMA:
Members of Parliament on the Health Committee were on Thursday left out in shocks after they discovered that a mortuary at a government hospital had been turned into a medical store.
The legislators who are in Bunyoro Region to assess the situation of health facilities today paid an impromptu visit to Kigorobya Health Centre IV facility in Hoima district where they discovered drugs being kept in a hospital mortuary.
Dr. Elisha Rutayebwa, the Chairman of the committee has condemned the practices of storing drugs in a mortuary which he says is not suitable for the Health Centre patients.
Kigorobya Health Centre IV came into limelights in 2019 when a telecommunication company, MTN donated maternal beds and other healthcare equipment to the hospital to support pregnant mothers.
The health centre offers a range of services such as C-section, HIV care, immunisation, out & in patient, antenatal care, maternity and family planning care to patients within and outside Hoima district.
