A suspected criminal has been put out of action in Gombe Wakiso district.
The yet to identify criminal was part of the gang that attacked the home of Besweri Kizito, 55, a resident of Jagala cell Kavule ward Gombe Division in Wakiso District with an intention of robbing him of his money.
According to the Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire, the incident occured on Tuesday at around 1am while security personnel on patrol in the areas of Jagala cell heard a loud scream from Kizito’s home crying out for help.
“The officers allegedly distributed themselves around all corners of the house and one unidentified male adult got out of Besweri’s house running”, said Owoyesigyire
On sorrounding the home, the two suspects tempted to run away prompting police to fire bullets hitting one and injuring him on the leg.
“A bullet was discharged to incapacitate the suspect and it hit his leg.” Owoyesigyire explains
He says that the suspect succumbed to the injuries as he was being rushed to hospital.
Police preliminary reports indicate that Kizito (the victim) had made a land transaction the previous day alleging that the suspects had raided the home with the hope of robbing the money he got from the transaction.
Police from Kasangati police station visited the scene of the crime and documented it.
Police has started inquiries into the matter meanwhile as the hunt for another suspect is underway.
