Deputy speaker of parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Bangirana Tayebwa has asked religious leaders to preach the gospel of household development and poverty eradication among the faithful
He was speaking as the chief guest at the priestly and diaconate ordination mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Nyamitanga Cathedral in Mbarara Archdiocese, Mbarara city on Saturday.
“I implore the newly ordained priests and deacons to use this calling as a platform to preach against poverty in our communities,” Tayebwa said while congratulating the priests and deacons ordained.
During the celebration of mass, the Archbishop of Mbarara Lambert Bainomugisha ordained 14 priests and 12 deacons.
The newly ordained priests are Rev. Fr; Lawrence Aine from Bubangizi, Chrispus
Amumpaire (Kashekuro), Evaristo Ariyo (Kakoma), Andrew Ayebazibwe (Ibanda)
and Wilbroad Barigye, together with Alex Twesigye (Mabonwa) among others.
The Archbishop also appointed the newly ordained priests and designated them to various parishes within Mbarara Archdiocese.
Among other notable dignitaries were Mbarara City Woman MP Ritah Bwahiika, Legislators from the greater Ankole, religious men and women and officials from the Archdiocese of Mbarara Development Association – AMDA.
