Police in Mbarara district are holding in their custody a woman on charges cutting off the hands of her co-wife for allegedly stealing her four bunches of matooke.
The suspect is identified as Robinah Nayebare, a resident of Ruhimba village, Rubindi Town Council Mbarara district.
According to Mildred Kyomugisha, an eye witness, the two co-wives first had a quarrel which prompted anger filled Nayebare to pick up a panga and cut off her co-wife’s hands only identified as Jane.
The Rubindi police post OCCID Benjamin Atukunda faulted the husband, Godius Mwebaze for failure to resolve misunderstandings between his spouses.
He appealed to the public to make use of the police probation office for all family issues.
By the time of this publication, the victim was still nursing wounds at Sheema clinic in Rubindi Town Council.
