Oulanya speaks out on nasty accident

The Kilak south county member of parliament, Gilbert Oulanya has said he issafe, alive and kicking after he was involved in nasty road accident along the Gulu-Kampala Highway on Tuesday.

The accident occured at Migeera on Gulu-Kampala highway after the car inwhich he was traveling knocked a rear of a stationary trailer.

News bloggers had started circulating false repoets that he was critically injured and hospitalized, but the legislator has calmed the public noting that he sustained minor injuries and in good health conditions.

“Its true I got an accident, but God was on our side. I survived with minor injuries, my driver was badly injured. He was rushed to a nearby clinic for first aid and the condition is not worrying,” Oulanya said.

This accident comes just days after the Buhweju Member of Parliament Francis Mwijukye involved in a nasty accident at Buwama Mpigi leaving two juveniles dead and others injured.

Oulanya becomes a fourth legislator of the 11th parliament to survive road accident in less than one month. Other MPs who recently got involved in an accident but survived include; the Leader of Opposition, Mathias Kasamba Mpuuga, the opposition chief whip, Rt Hon John Baptist Nambeshe and shadow trade and industry minister, MP Francis Mwijukye.
