“Prioritize initiatives that create jobs, enhance household incomes, and uplift vulnerable groups,” Maj. Asiimwe urged.
Government leaders in Abim district have been urged to work together to ensure government projects benefit the local community.
This was during a monitoring meeting convened by Maj. Martha Asiimwe with district leaders at Abim district headquarters on Monday. During the meeting, Asiimwe emphasize the importance of collaboration and teamwork which she said fosters socioeconomic transformation among the households.
“Prioritize initiatives that create jobs, enhance household incomes, and uplift vulnerable groups,” Maj. Asiimwe urged.
According to Asiimwe, improving livelihoods and ensuring better services delivery aligns with President Museveni’s directive for 2021-2026 as a term dedicated to socio-economic transformation.
She highlighted key achievements in the district, attributing progress to President Museveni’s leadership and strategic programs. However, she also addressed the need to overcome challenges, including gaps in monitoring and accountability.
The RDC Secretariat’s role in service delivery monitoring, evaluating government programs, and tackling corruption was also underscored. Leaders were also urged leaders to ensure transparency. Additionally, Asiimwe encouraged citizens to report misconduct through toll-free lines for reporting corruption.
