As Christians across Uganda celebrate the birth of Christ, the Archbishop delivered a heartfelt Christmas message filled with joy, gratitude and a call to unity.
Greeting believers in the name of Jesus, he expressed happiness during this festive season, reminding the faithful that Christmas is a time to love abundantly and share with those in need.
The Archbishop thanked Christians for their commitment to spreading the word of God through acts of charity, care, and compassion. He also extended appreciation to all who contributed to the development of the Archdiocese through the AMDEF projects which aim to strengthen the Catholic Church.
Reflecting on the spiritual journey of the year, he noted that 2025 has been marked as the Year of Pilgrims of Hope. He announced that the Mbarara Archdiocese will officially close this year of pilgrimage of hope on December 28. He urged Christians to continue walking in God’s light, embracing hope, faith, love, and unity while upholding the dignity of all people. He reminded the faithful of the kraal in Bethlehem, a symbol of calmness and humility.
The Archbishop emphasized the importance of peace during the ongoing election season. He called on Ugandans to exercise their rights responsibly, respect differing opinions, and avoid bloodshed. He stressed that love and reconciliation are the foundations upon which the nation can be built.
His Grace Lambert Beinomugisha wished all Ugandans a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, encouraging them to carry the spirit of hope and unity into 2026.
