The English Premier League season is officially underway after Arsenal pulled off an impressive victory against Manchester City to claim the Community Shield.
The closely contested encounter between two football giants ended 1-1 at full time, with both sides producing a free-flowing game. However, it was Cole Palmer’s curling strike that looked to have secured a win for Manchester City, until Leandro Trossard equalised in the 101st minute with a deflected shot.
The game ultimately went to penalties, where Arsenal emerged victorious after substitute Kevin de Bruyne struck the crossbar and Rodri’s effort was saved. Fabio Vieira then converted his penalty to secure the silverware for Arsenal.
The victory provides Arsenal fans with renewed optimism as they embark on a new season, hoping to better their largely disappointing performance last year. It also gives them confidence that their team’s hopes of beating Manchester City to the Premier League title could soon become a reality.
