Hajjati Azida Nanteza Basajjabalaba, the mother of the Chairperson of the National Resistance Movement Entrepreneurs’ League Chairperson, Al-hajji Dr. Hassan Basajjabalaba passed away.
Hajjati Azida died in Cologne Germany where she has been receiving treatment for undisclosed disease, according to a close family source.
Reports of her death were confirmed by Kampala International University, owned by businessman Basajjabalaba on Monday evening.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hajjat Azida Basajjabalaba, mother of our esteemed Chairman, Board of Trustees, Hajj Dr Hassan Basajjabalaba,” KIU said in a statement.
Hajjati Azida, who has on several occasions attended graduation ceremonies at Kampala International University (KIU), has been known for her inspiring messages of hope, courage, and wisdom to young graduates from her son’s institution.
She has frequently traveled to Germany for medical treatment, though the nature of her illness has not been disclosed.
Funeral arrangements are currently underway and will be officially communicated in due course.
