KASESE

Former Rwenzururu Kingdom Prime Minister Gadi Mbayahi has died following injuries he sustained in a motor accident.

According to local sources, Mbayahi passed away at Kampala International University (KIU) Hospital, where he had been admitted after the accident.

Mbayahi, a respected elder in the Rwenzururu sub-region, also served as the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer for the LC5 chairperson seat in Kasese District in the 2026/31election cycle.

Party officials and members of the Rwenzururu community have described his death as a great loss, hailing him for his humility, leadership, and dedication to both cultural and political service.

“With deep sorrow we announce the passing on of our elder and Former Rwenzururu Kingdom Prime Minister Gadi Mbayahi,” NUP announced.

Arrangements for his burial are underway, and further details are expected to be announced by the family and Rwenzururu Kingdom leadership.
