In a heartwarming tale of perseverance and determination, Higenyi Sherif, a security guard by night, gardener by day, and student by weekend, has defied all odds and graduated from Kampala International University. Amidst challenging circumstances, Sherif’s incredible journey serves as an inspiration to many other Ugandans seeking self-development.
Speaking at his graduation ceremony held today, Hon Kyagulanyi Sentamu said it is a happy day in their home seeing their employee graduate amidst challenges as a casual labourer and night security guard.
“Warm congratulations to one of our special employees, friend and family member-Higenyi Sherif. Thank you for making us proud and for being an inspiration to many other Ugandans who seek self development amidst challenging circumstances,May Allah reward your hard work and discipline and may he answer all your prayers” Bobi Wine added.
It as a momentous occasion filled with joy and pride. Sherif’s story is a testament to the power of hard work, discipline, and the pursuit of education. Surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues, Sherif received his well-deserved accolades as he walked across the stage to collect his diploma.
With a total of 1,862 students graduating alongside him, Sherif’s accomplishments are even more noteworthy. This significant milestone marks not only Sherif’s personal achievement but also the impact he has made on his community. As a security guard, Sherif has dedicated his nights to ensuring the safety of others.
During the day, he tirelessly tends to his gardening duties, showcasing his determination and work ethic. Despite working long hours, Sherif still found time to pursue higher education on the weekends. His dedication and commitment to self-improvement have earned him the admiration of those around him. Sherif’s graduation serves as a reminder that education is a powerful tool that can break the cycle of poverty and open doors to new opportunities.
At the graduation ceremony, all first class graduates were awarded full scholarships to study master courses of their choice by the university chairman Board of Trustees, Dr. Al Hajji Hassan Basajjabalaba.
