In abid to bring the game of boxing to the grassroot levels, and perhaps increase on the fanbase, the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) has organised a tournament dubbed “Shadow Boxing Uganda” with the aim of spotting talents who have better skills than the other in the game of boxing.
According to Moses Muhangi the president of Uganda boxing federation,the tournament is open for all Ugandans at all levels.
“We have opened this tournament for local people both seniors and amartuers,fans of boxing so that we can connect with our fans.”Muhangi stated.
To participate in this challenge, one is required to record a 30 second video showcasing skills and later have it posted on the boxing federation social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, where the federation committee and fans will judge winners according to likes one gets.
Awinner will be awarded with different accolades.
“We have just started it like this at this level, but we hope it to grow into a huge milestone that will even bring big sponsors on board that will boost it to another level so that it becomes a norm in the country” Muhangi added.
The submission of video challenges will start next week on Monday the 15th-19th June 2020.
The #ShadowBoxingUgandaChallenge shall see a winner going up with UGx 1m, 750,000for the 1st runner up, 500,000 for the 3rd runner up and 250,00 for the 4th runnerup.
