Bishop Stuart University, in collaboration with the World Academy for the Future of Women based in the USA, has launched a one-year mentorship program aimed at promoting leadership skills among the female students. The program, which will benefit over 120 selected students, seeks to equip them with the necessary skills to take up global leadership challenges.
During the launch, University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mugisha John Francis challenged the beneficiaries to take the program seriously and ensure they impart the skills in their present leadership roles. He emphasized the importance of preparing the next generation of leaders to address global challenges.
Jerry, President of World Academy for Women in Leadership, urged leaders at all levels to create change and empower women to take up leadership positions. He emphasized the need for collective effort to bridge the gender gap in leadership.
The mentorship program will focus on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Participants will have access to mentorship from experienced leaders, training sessions, and networking opportunities with international universities.
This initiative is a significant step towards promoting gender equality and empowering the girl child to take up leadership roles. By investing in their leadership skills, Bishop Stuart University and World Academy For Women in leadership are shaping the future of global leadership, said Prof Mugisha.
The program’s launch is a call to action for leaders to support and empower women to take up leadership positions. As the world grapples with complex challenges, the need for diverse perspectives and inclusive leadership has never been more pressing.
