The Grade One Magistrate’s Court in Mbarara has remanded Doreen Atwongyire, a lecturer at Bishop Stuart University, over allegations of causing grievous harm to her maid.
Atwongyire, who is charged under Uganda’s Penal Code Act, is accused of inflicting severe injuries on Anitah Kansiime, 16-year-old, domestic helper.
During her court appearance, the prosecution presented evidence of the alleged assault, leading to her remand.
