BUSHENYI
Two bodies of a couple in Bushenyi district were on the weekend discovered inside their house in suspected murder and suicide.
Thr tragic incident occurred in Kasingyesa, Nyeibingo Parish in Ruhumuro Sub-county, Bushenyi District, after a man allegedly killed his wife before taking his own life.
The deceased have been identified as Rubongyere Nelson, 36, and Kyokusiima Miriam, 39, residents of the same area.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred inside their home on October 4
“Kyokusiima Miriam, 39, was found with deep cut wounds on her neck, arms, and legs, while her husband, Rubongyera Nelson, 36, was found hanging in their sitting room,” said SP Apollo Tayebwa, the Greater Bushenyi Region Police Spokesperson.
SP Tayebwa disclosed that they recovered a blood-stained panga suspected to have been used in the crime. Bodies were taken to Kyabugimbi Health Centre IV for postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Meanwhile, police investigations are underway to establish the motive behind the tragic events. And the police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
