The newly elected National Secretary for Mobilisation of Opposition party National Unity Platform (NUP) Habibu Buwembo has stepped down as MP Aspirant for Rubaga South.
While addressing Journalists in Rubaga today Buwembo said the decision follows his personal commitment to the new role as the party Mobilizer.
Buwembo said that running for Rubaga South would be unfortunate, as it would mean prioritizing his personal interests over those of the party. He added that stepping down is his way of supporting the party’s broader goal of leading the country.
Habibu Buwembo last week was elected the NUP national secretary for Mobilisation replacing Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu.
However Buwembo challenged party members to remain united if they want to succeed.
