Uganda Civil Aviation Authority has temporarily suspended all study tours at Entebbe International Airport.
Vianey M Luggya, authority spokesperson says the suspension is to allow effective expansion works at the airport.
According to him, the number of users of the facilities has recently shoot up making construction works for expansion of the terminal at the airport building sluggish as the authority prompting the authority to cordon off of some some part of the car parking.
Entebbe Airport receives between 10 to 15 schools on a daily basis with the majority of the schools bringing in over 100 learners thus leading to congestion of the airport.
“In order to enhance service provision, we have deemed it prudent to temporarily suspend study tours until the expansion works of the terminal building are completed,” says Luggya.
He noted that study tours shall resume towards the end of the year after the authority has reviewed the situation.
