Renowned Ugandan musician Jose Chameleone, real name Joseph Mayanja, has been hospitalized in the United States again, after experiencing health complications.
Chameleone was first admitted to Nakasero Hospital in Kampala late last year in critical condition. As his health deteriorated, he was later transferred to Alina Mercy Hospital in the U.S. for further treatment.
The news of his hospitalization was first shared by Juliet Zawedde, a close friend based in the U.S.
“My bestie is not feeling well today; he has been taken to the hospital. I pray for you, my dear friend Chameleone. I know you’re currently unwell. May the Lord grant you a healing touch, restore your health and strength, comfort you in your pain, and give you the courage to face this challenge. May you know that you are loved and supported during this time,” Zawedde wrote.

Chameleone’s son, Abba Marcus, revealed that his father is battling acute pancreatitis, a condition often linked to alcohol consumption.
While previous reports indicated that the singer had been responding well to treatment, he was once again rushed to the hospital today for further medical attention.
Just days ago, Chameleone appeared in viral videos cooking and performing live, suggesting he had been in good spirits before the latest health setback.
